Cousins are the ones we got into mischief with. They are the ones we grew up with and the ones who no matter what are a part of our lives till the end.
My cousins were and are great. A childhood filled with excitement when knowing they were on their way to visit. The joy of playing together. Of exploring uncharted territories within our home town. Of sharing secrets and childhood fantasies together.
Building cubby houses, growing vegetables and pretending we were so grown up. Of playing dress up in the ballet costumes my mum had made and dancing like the fairy's that we believed we were. Riding our horses in the river and having their hooves splash us with enjoyment until we were saturated.
Yeah there were times we argued and didn't speak to each other but we always ended up friends again . You cant really escape your family. Family are in it for the long haul.
Cousins...they have children of their own now. One can still see the family resemblance, still see those expressions that have been passed down. Watching the next generation play together , learn together, explore together. I grew up in a family of all girls and now we have all had mostly boys. Watching them play is so so different to the way we did but the basis of that friendship is still there.
Yes blood is thicker than water, family is what we all share and you cant gt rid of me that easily..I'm here till the end xx
Yes, it's a unique bond...and I wouldn't have it any other way!
